This new change was first reported by WABetaInfo and according to the reports, WhatsApp didn’t reveal anything about the removal of this feature or why it removed the feature. The company also didn’t reveal when this feature will be rolling out as a stable version. Although the new WhatsApp beta update for iOS has removed the ability to save the profile picture to the gallery but the users can still save the profile picture of a group they are part of. Furthermore, profile pictures can also be saved by taking a screenshot. Other than removing the option to save the profile picture, WhatsApp has also added new useful features. In the new beta version of WhatsApp you can see how many items has been sent to you by a person and the overall size of the things receive.
For Android, WhatsApp v2.19.143 beta was rolled out two weeks ago which had removed the option to save the profile photo to the gallery. The company had completely removed the option of sharing or saving the profile photo of a user which was present earlier. Now, WhatsApp v 2.19.60.26 beta version for iOS has brought this feature to the iPhones and the iPads. WhatsApp has also changed the audio coding format for the iOS users. Earlier, WhatsApp used Opus voice message format which it changed to M4A in the new beta update. But the audio format change is available only for the iOS beta version of WhatsApp and the Android beta version is yet to receive this feature. To download the new beta version of WhatsApp for iOS the users would need to enrol themselves to the beta programme of WhatsApp. But if they are already a part of the beta programme then they can go to the Apple App Store and download the beta version of the application.
