Tipster Evan Blass confirmed the same, that the much-awaited phone whose name was a mystery till now, will be called the Samsung Galaxy Fold. According to earlier leaks, we were able to know that the Samsung Galaxy Fold will sport a 4.58-inch screen in its smartphone form and once unfolded, would sport a 7.3-inch screen. The former will have an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a resolution of 1,960×840 pixels. The latter will have a resolution of 2,152×1,536 pixels and an aspect ratio of 4.2:3. The foldable phone will come with 8GB RAM. In terms of processor, the Samsung Galaxy Fold will be powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC, which is Qualcomm’s latest processor. The smartphone will reportedly come with two batteries, each of which will have a capacity of 2,190mAh. The device is likely to run on Android Pie with One UI layered and is expected to cost $2,500 (approximately Rs 1,77,500). Apart from Samsung, Oppo is also going to launch a foldable smartphone at the MWC (mobile word congress) that is scheduled on February 24 in Barcelona. Apart from this, the Chinese company is expected to launch a device with 10x hybrid zoom.
Considering that its theme for the Mobile World Congress is “Get closer”, it is very likely that the foldable smartphone is going to be incorporated with this feature. Since reports are not sure if Oppo will launch two separate smartphones having those characteristics. Apart from Oppo, Huawei, Xiaomi and TCL will also launch foldable smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2019 that is just a few days away.
