Over the next few weeks, Epic Games will be hosting a series of events where competitors will be able to submit their creations. The winners will then compete with each other at the World Cup finals that will be held in New York in July this year. The winners will be competing for a prize of $3 million. According to Epic Games, the following is the basic process of qualification: The road to the Fortnite World Cup Creative Finals includes five showcase events running from April 29th – June 7th. Every week you’ll have a chance to try out the latest creative trial and submit your best clip using the event-specific hashtag on YouTube. Our special Fortnite captains will select the top submissions as winners. The selected winners each week will be headed to New York City to participate in the Fortnite World Cup Creative Finals.

We’ll kick things off with the first trial, built and judged by Cizzorz. Tune into Fortnite’s social channels and follow Cizzorz online for the latest news on the first creative trial. Every other week a new creative trial will be revealed, with more opportunities to qualify for the finals. We have to admit that in a way, it is quite surprising to see the creative mode in the World Cup as e-sports usually focus on direct competition in shooter, fighting and strategy. Having said that, it does make a lot of sense. The Fortnite World Cup will be a huge event and it will provide a big opportunity to push the creative mode. The creative mode is important to Fortnite as it is a key component to the game’s longevity. Epic Games has made Fortnite and e-sports a big priority and has gone as far as setting aside $100 million for tournaments, which will be given to winners in the World Cup finals. The event will take place at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City, which can seat 23,000 people.
